Welding properties of TA15 titanium alloy

TA15(BT20,Ti-6Al-2Zr-1Mo-1V) alloy is a medium strength near A type titanium alloy, it has moderate room temperature and high temperature strength, good thermal stability and welding performance, suitable for the production of 450(6000h) and 5(XrC(3_h) long-term work. The welding performance of the alloy is excellent in argon arc welding, contact welding and submerged arc welding, and the weld strength at room temperature and high temperature is 90% to 95% of the strength of the matrix.

In addition to argon arc welding and electron beam welding, there are also various welding forms (such as submerged arc welding, penetration welding, double-sided dynamic arc welding), resistance welding and brazing welding of TA15 titanium alloy. Submersible arc welding can be several millimeters (65mm) thick plate - secondary penetration. And the penetration welding can be welded from the back of the T-shaped joint plate to make the T-shaped joint welded on both sides of the shape, which has a high welding efficiency and welding quality. It can also interweld with other titanium alloys. There is no significant difference in the strength, bending Angle and impact properties of the joint welded by automatic argon arc welding of thick 2rom plate in the welding state and the thermal exposure state at 450T: 100h after welding, and the joint is not sensitive to heat treatment.

TA15 titanium alloy can be welded satisfactorily with or without welding wire. It can be welded with a variety of deformed alloys and cast titanium alloys (ZTA7, ZTA15). The strength of the welded joint can reach 90%-95% of the strength of the matrix.
